Being a Child at Heart with Exercise

Exercise doesn’t always have to be a structured class or serious routine, it can be as carefree as it was when you were a kid.  Exercising or playing like a kid is a fun way to stay fit whether you have kids and want to join them or you want a fun break from your regular routine. Why not race your kids outside and hula hoop with them?  You could use one of theirs or get a weighted one to get even more out of your workout.  You will certainly work that core not only by using the hula hoop but also from all the laughing with your kids as you bust a move with them.  Even if you don’t have kids it’s a great way to have a cardio workout and burn a lot of calories in a fun way. Put some music on and hula hoop to a fitter you. If using a hula hoop is outside your comfort zone then grab a piece of chalk and do some hop scotch or draw circles all over the driveway that you can jump to.  When’s the last time you jumped rope?  Replace your walk or run with jumping rope to switch up that cardio workout this week.  Switching up your regular exercise routine by taking a lesson from your kids or the kid in you will help you to stay motivated by keeping it fun and carefree.
